Gaumukh Tapovan Trek (5N- 6D; Ex- Dehradun; 13000/head)

The Gaumukh–Tapovan Trek is one of the most iconic high-altitude Himalayan treks in Uttarakhand, known for its spiritual significance and dramatic mountain scenery. The trek starts and ends at Gangotri (3,100 m), home to the sacred Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga.

From Gangotri, the trail follows the Gangotri Glacier route through Chirbasa and Bhojbasa, leading to Gaumukh (4,000 m)—the revered snout of the Gangotri Glacier and the official source of the River Ganga. From Gaumukh, the trek becomes steeper and more challenging as it ascends to Tapovan (4,463 m), a vast alpine meadow offering breathtaking views of Mt. Shivling, Bhagirathi peaks, and Meru. Tapovan is the last point of the trek and a popular camping site for trekkers and sadhus.

The total trek distance is approximately 46 km (round trip). The route is a mix of well-defined trails, rocky moraines, and steep ascents, making the trek moderate to difficult in terms of difficulty. This trek is ideal for experienced trekkers seeking a blend of adventure, spirituality, and raw Himalayan beauty.
